Coal conference to cover both surface and underground coal technology

THE preliminary conference program for the 2019 Coal Operators' Conference has been released and the event will focus on both underground and surface mining innovation.

Conference chairman professor Naj Aziz said the conference addressed issues relating to various aspects of modern coal mining operations and also gave industry experts the chance to share advice and insights in this area. 
 
"This year's pre-conference workshop concentrates on coal handling and processing - and the requirements for reliable and sustainable supply," he told Australia's Mining Monthly.
 
The Coal Operators' Conference, which has been held since 1998, is organised by the Mining Engineering Group of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, University of Wollongong and supported by the Illawarra Branch of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Mine Managers Association of Australia.  
 
This year's conference will be held on February 18-20 at the University of Wollongong.
