As part of its celebrations the hub has two new programs on offer: the Core Expert-in-Residence and Core Skills programs, which are designed to advance capability by leveraging global thought leadership and upskilling industry with the digital and collaboration skills of the future.

Core CEO Tamryn Barker said new capability made possible through digital technologies made it an exciting time for the sector, however, the challenge was in how organisations build capabilities in their teams.

The Core innovation hub was designed to build community, culture and capability in the sector, which it does by facilitating hundreds of technical, networking and knowledge-building events and activities and providing flexible, fit-for-purpose skills courses to its 130 or more industry partners and members.

It was founded by National Energy Resources Australia, METS Ignited, Austmine, WesTrac, Unearthed and Spacecubed.

Barker said Core's partners and members were central to the hub's impact.

"Without a strong and vibrant community, this transformation would not be possible or sustainable," she said.

"At Core, we seek out opportunities to solve the sector's challenges through partnerships and new business models and by leveraging our dynamic and skilled community of entrepreneurs and industry experts."
