BOTH the moon and Mars will be colonised by humans by 2050, University of New South Wales Professor Serkan Saydam claims, once autonomous mining processes are deployed to extract and process water from the red planet and take out the hydrogen to use as energy, before human’s land.

The success of NASA's Perseverance rover landing on Mars last month led Saydam to agree with Elon Musk's bold prediction there would be a settlement there but not at the level Musk proclaimed.
