No injuries were reported in the accident, which occurred in the western Illinois town of Galesburg near Lake Bracken, according to local newspaper the Register-Mail.

BNSF spokesperson Steve Forsberg called the single-track incident “a very small derailment” and told the paper crews were cleaning up the debris so the crossing would only be affected for 14-16 hours. Two of the cars involved left the tracks but remained upright; the remaining derailed cars tipped over.

Knox County police deputy Denny Davison, also present at the scene, told the paper he was told a broken rail may have been to blame. The actual cause, however, is pending a BNSF investigation.
