Joy taps Woodward, Major for board

Woodward will serve as its chief financial officer and treasurer, while Major has taken the seat of general counsel. Both joined Joy in January of this year as executive vice-presidents.

 

A graduate of Michigan State, Woodward’s professional placements have included Deloitte and Touche, JLG Industries and Dana Corporation, where he worked for 18 years and served as the company’s vice-president and corporate controller, among other positions.

 

Major came on board with Joy after leaving Johnson Controls, where he held the positions of assistant general counsel and assistant secretary along with other senior-level legal seats. Also a former employee of Abbott Laboratories as well as in private law practice, Major is a graduate of DePauw University, Indiana University School of Law and Northwestern.

 

“I am pleased to have people of their experience, capability and calibre on my team,” said Joy president Mike Sutherlin.

 

“We now have a team in place that is ready and able to lead this business through the next phase of its growth.”

 

The company also reiterated the plans of its executive vice-president, CFO and treasurer Donald Roof, who is retiring mid-year. “Don has been a great asset to this business, and played an instrumental role in our improving performance over the past several years,” Sutherlin said.
