Polish News reported the ZL70 million contract marked the first deal for the company into the Middle East.
The agreement with the Italian Irasco, which Kopex needs to complete in 16 months, will also require the training of Iranian miners.
In other talks, Kopex has in its sights a US$16.2 million construction deal in the Kolubara mine in Serbia, and a general construction deal with a Vietnamese partner for the construction of a US$90 million mine. Another contract worth US$10.5 is currently underway in Romania.
Kopex supplies an array of longwall equipment and services including powered longwall mining systems, mining wall and gallery lining of various types, conveyors, roof supports, drilling equipment and shearers.
