According to the report the victim was freed by emergency services in a stable condition with back injuries. It was expected he would be flown to a Sydney hospital for treatment.

 

The accident occurred about five kilometres from the mine’s entrance just before 7am on Monday.

 

Centennial was unable to be reached for comment.

 

Clarence mine is the most productive continuous miner operation in Australia producing 1.4 to 1.5 million tonnes per annum.
