“The company has now established the SAMINCO SCR traction control system for shuttlecars into the Australian underground coal industry,” said managing director, Mark Kingshott. “It provides a controlled start to the traction system reducing wear and tear on the drive train and improving operator comfort and safety."

The company is also unveiling its new graphics and download facility for AS4240 compliant radio remote control systems for Continuous Miners. The ‘Obelix’ system is now working on numerous Eimco, Voest-Alpine, Joy and DBT Miners throughout the world and has recently been fitted to Mitsui Roadheaders.

Obelix was developed by Pempek Systems and Waratah Engineering

Waratah Engineering will also unveil its new product offering "The Warabog" at AIMEX.

Designed in conjunction with one of Waratah's customers it offers:

- Spill-proof sealing for safe and hygienic transportation

- Comfortable 'ergonomic' design

- Convenient Battery and Self-rescuer stowage

- FRAS material within a steel protective shell

- Modesty screen

- Hand pump and washbowl option

- Easily transportable by LHD

Kingshott said: “You could be in the **** without one!"
