Wet weather impacts New Hope output

Australian production was 18% ahead of the previous quarter but New Hope’s operations in Indonesia were adversely affected by wet weather. Total raw coal production for the three months to April 30 was 7.1 million tonnes, down 6% on the previous quarter.

Production for the nine months to April remained in-line with last year’s output of 22.6Mt.

Coal sales in the quarter were 5% lower than the previous quarter, with Indonesian tonnages adversely affected by the weather.

New Hope’s Australian operations include New Acland, Jeebropilly and New Oakleigh, and its holds a 41% share in PT Adaro Indonesia.
