Brown coal seams at the project were defined as having a cumulative thickness of 20.85m, calculated at a maximum depth of 100m.

The statement was defined by 119 boreholes in the north east of the licence and brings the company’s total Latrobe Valley holdings to 442Mt of JORC-compliant inferred resource.

The company said it intends to continue expanding and exploring maiden resources at the site.

The company said it had identified a direct coal to liquids process which may allow it to achieve cost effective and environmentally responsible liquid coal fuel.
