LMS is based in the Pittsburgh region of Pennsylvania, which remains the heart of the underground coal mining industry in the US.
While ATB Morley is based in the UK, 92% of its products are exported worldwide.
The nature of its business calls for a global network of sales representatives that can also offer support.
LMS manufactures and distributes equipment for underground coal mining applications.
It is the leading North American supplier of the Bretby cable handler, an integral component in longwall mining operations that protects and controls the movement of the power cables and hoses that service the coal shearer as it traverses the coal face.
This venture between ATB Morley and LMS builds on a last relationship between Morley and LMS founder John Whitfield, who has worked with the UK manufacturer regularly over the past 20 years.
Whitfield moved to the US in 1982 while working for Victor Products where he became vice-president and general manager for the North American operation.
After that he became eastern regional manager of Australian company Mine Site Technologies.
Whitfield formed LMS in 2010.
