Kentucky Coal Association president Bill Bissett will speak on President Barrack Obama’s greenhouse gas regulations, which have created a more uncertain environment for the domestic use of coal as an electricity source, while other countries expand their use of coal.
As traditional and emerging economies across the planet create more electricity using coal, Bissett will discuss the long-term possibilities for US coal to supply the growing demand.
“With the coal industry under unprecedented attack, what will be the clarion call that will ensure the industry resonates with the American public?” the organisers of the conference ask.
“What are companies doing to ensure the clean coal industry will survive, and thrive. More and more the end-consumer will help drive this stability and growth. What can we do, collectively, to ensure that message is reaching the right people?”
