Five workers were killed at a coal mine in southwest China's Yunnan Province

The roof of the shaft at Dahai coal mine collapsed on Monday.

Twenty-six miners escaped the tragedy, while five victims were trapped underground, authorities said.

Four survivors with minor injuries are being treated in a local hospital, they said.

Production capacity at the mine is just 90,000 tonnes a year.

In another coal mine accident on Monday afternoon, two miners were killed and seven others injured by a gas explosion at the Yujin coal mine in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
