The licence contains the coals that contain the company’s 2P gas reserves, 1.1 trillion cubic feet marked for the Blue Gum UCG project.
The company applied for renewal in July 2012, so the process lasted about as long as the renewal will.
The work plan for MDL 374 includes the continuation of the company’s ground water monitoring program.
With renewal the company hopes to start the environmental process for the development of a mid-scale UCG development while a government policy decision is pending.
