They received a 0.6% swing to them in NSW, the lowest of any Australian state or territory, which compares to their peak result in 2010 of 11.8%.
In Hunter the swing was 0.7% and in Patterson the Greens recorded a negative swing of -0.7%. In the mining seat of New England, the Greens suffered a negative swing of -2.0%.
NEW South Wales Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee said: “We're pleased to know that the majority of NSW residents still recognise the importance and benefits that mining brings to the state's economy.
“With around 80% of the votes counted, the Greens recent aggressive anti-mining campaigns in the lead up to the election have failed in NSW with the party receiving a negligible swing of just 0.6% across the state - the lowest in the country.”
