China mine blast kills 13

The explosion occurred at the Niuxinhui Coal Mine in Ningwu county of Shanxi province while the mine was working on an expansion project, Xinhua reported.

The cause of accident is now under investigation.

An average 13 coal miners a day died in blasts, floods and other accidents in China last year, according to official figures.
