MSHA said in an equipment hazard alert that Brookville had advised the agency that the supplemental braking system on its diesel-powered rubber tired units did not automatically reset upon machine shutdown after the system has been manually released with the hand pump.
Determination by unit serial number will decide the components required to correct the unit. Kits including these components will be prepared by Brookville and made available to customers.
MSHA said customers operating the machines with the serial numbers listed should contact the service department at Brookville Equipment. Affected Brookville serial numbers are: RT500, 8400, 8401, 8522, 8636, 8742, 8743, 8808, 9003, 9004, 9005, 9038, 9056, 9057, 9058, 9059, 9060, 9061, 9062, 9063, 9100, 9114, 9115, 9123, 9124, 9125, 9126.
MSHA said failure to comply with corrective action may result in citations and/or removal of the machine from service.
