The Illinois-based supplier, which specialises in systems and services for controlling dust and spillage from bulk material handling systems, said the contract represented the largest engineer/procure/construct project for the company’s European business unit.

Martin Inertial Flow Transfer Chutes are custom-engineered chutes used in the loading or unloading of belt conveyors.

Developed with the use of sophisticated material testing and computerised flow-modelling, the chutes carry a written guarantee of up to a 98% reduction of dust and spillage, and also reduce problems with impact damage, off-centre loading, belt mistracking, and chute plugs.

Located in Walluf, Germany, the European unit will work in close collaboration with the company’s engineering and project management unit, Martin Engineering Services Group, of Kirkland, Washington, with support teams in Brazil, Germany and South Africa.

Martin Engineering chairman Ed Peterson said the deal was a sign of things to come for the company in the global marketplace.
