Wu recently retired as president of China Shen Hua Energy Company and has held a number of executive positions with major companies in China.
Joy Global CEO Michael Sutherlin said he was confident that Wu’s stature, experience and knowledge would help drive the company’s business in China.
Wu has been director of Overseas Engineering Development for the Chinese International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC), and general manager of Ji Xi Mining Machinery Company.
The emerging markets, particularly in China, represent Joy’s largest opportunity for future growth.
Joy has been working on delivering its China 2010 program, with the objective of growing the Chinese market to $US500 million in revenues by 2010.
