Canadian, Indian longwall experts to speak at Yeppoon

Nicholls will provide insights into the Donkin longwall project in Nova Scotia and Rao will discuss longwall mining in India.

Environment, safety and automation will be among key issues on the agenda.

External business acting head Susan Johnston will look at Anglo Coal’s views and initiatives regarding clean coal technologies.

The issue of longwall top coal caving will be examined by Austar’s Phil McNamara.

Longwall automation efforts at BMA’s Broadmeadow mine and Anglo’s Grasstree mine will be reviewed, along with the 26-year history of longwall operations at Centennial Coal’s Angus Place.

The summit will be held at the Rydges Capricorn Yeppoon from June 20-21.
