"We have 232 exhibitors representing 30 states, Canada and [the] UK," show sponsor Bluefield Chamber of Commerce director Debbie Maynard told International Longwall News this week.

"From the 232 exhibitors they represent over 300 businesses/companies."

She also said that, much like years past, there is a waiting list for exhibitors who want to set up at the event but cannot due to space limitations.

"Most of the 2005 exhibitors returned and we have some 30 new exhibitors that are new or have not exhibited in a number of years," she said.

Thanks to the addition of an online registration form, Maynard noted that interest has been strong and the office has had plenty of requests for information to be sent to various coal companies to pre-register employees.

"We anticipate a record number of attendees," she said.

The chamber was also happy to announce this week that West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin will be on hand to officially open the three-day expo, set to begin at 10am local time September 12 and close the afternoon of September 14.

Maynard was quick to explain that the success of the coal show is due in large part to volunteer efforts.

"And the support from all the coal publications, coal associations and coal companies has been great," she said.

"Many of the exhibitors are featuring new equipment, demonstrations and services to the right people at the right place at the right time."
