The Illinois-based supplier announced the purchase of the Witbank Scorpio this month.

In South Africa, Scorpio Conveyor Products will continue to manufacture and distribute the full range of SCORPIO Products. In addition, the operation will now offer MARTIN Products including belt cleaners, air cannons, engineered chute systems, impact cradles, load zone sealing systems, belt tracking devices, and industrial vibrators.

Headquartered in Neponset, Illinois, Martin Engineering is a pioneer and world leader in the development of engineered belt cleaning and sealing systems and other custom-designed systems to improve bulk material handling.

Martin Engineering owns and operates subsidiaries in Michigan, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, France, Japan, China, and Indonesia. The company has approximately 500 worldwide employees, and will post consolidated sales in excess of US$60 million for 2003.
