“With relatively short dragline paths available, significant variations in coal release from quarter to quarter are characteristic at Bengalla,” Coal & Allied said.

The company said shipments were in line with the allocation set under the Port Waratah Coal Services capacity and its Hunter Valley operations and Mount Thorley Warkworth aligned with the port and rail allocation.

Hunter Valley operations produced 2.8 million tonnes during the quarter. Total coal output for the quarter was 6.9Mt.

The company has continued work on the pre-feasibility study of the Mount Pleasant deposit.
