There were 22 accidents in the nation’s coal industry which claimed 135 lives last year, according to RIA Novosti.
The meeting will be held on Thursday and is to include the government’s Energy and Health ministers, along with Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin and other officials.
China has been overhauling the safety of its coal industry over the last few years, presenting underground coal sector suppliers with a potentially lucrative new market for safety products.
