Lord’s professional experience also includes roles at Fletcher Challenge Paper Australia and Tasman Pulp & Paper Company.
Gloucester Coal chairman Andy Hogendijk said Lord will work closely with the board and senior management to pursue growth opportunities outside the Gloucester Basin.
“I am delighted to welcome Rob to Gloucester Coal. Rob is well suited to lead the execution of Gloucester Coal’s business plan and operating strategies and to maximise the opportunities presently available in the resources sector,” he said.
Lord will commence as CEO of Gloucester Coal in late August.
Gloucester’s former managing director and CEO Gavin May resigned last week when his contract expired, after 10 years with the company.
Hogendijk said the company had undergone significant development through this period and has built a solid reputation as a leading Australian coal mining business under May’s direction.
