The company's new office, located in Milton, west of Brisbane, has been established to provide customer support services to mining companies and other simulator users in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Immersive Technologies has felt a huge lift in recognition and client base after the release of the coal industry's first dragline operator training simulator, in September this year.
Immersive now has more than 55 different machine types available and their software is used to replicate environmental surroundings at nearly 70 mine sites.
Training simulators built by Immersive Technologies are able to achieve an advanced level of realism and fidelity through the use of proprietary data and machine technical information, allowing companies to train and test their operators on varying equipment in a safe, educational, low cost and production enhancing environment.
The simulators come semi-transportable to install on-site or built into a fully transportable container to enable shipment around various sites.
Regional manager Mark Walker said the eastern states of Australia represented an important and growing market for Immersive Technologies and that the new office would give Immersive Technologies a sales and marketing presence in the heart of the Australian export-coal industry.
"Having an operations base in Brisbane positions us to grow our business in the open-cut mining market and it provides a platform to enter new markets," Walker said.
"Our simulator technology has become the industry standard in simulator training."
With more than 65 Immersive's AE simulators deployed in 14 countries around the world, Immersive has for more than eight years set the pace in the development of advanced mining equipment training simulators.
Current users of Immersive Technologies advanced equipment simulators include BHP Billiton, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Xstrata, Thiess and Anglo Coal.
