Polish coal up for December

POLISH coal output rose to 8.89 million tons in December, but it was not enough to lift the 2003 ...

December production was up 5.2% from 2002, lifting the bar on the previous month’s figure which were significantly down, according to information released by the Central Statistical Office last week.

Interfax Poland reported brown coal production was down for the month, compared to 2002 levels. A total of 60.89 million tons of brown coal was produced by Poland in 2003.
