Wet weather has hampered Queensland Rail’s efforts to restore the dual track in order to allow coal deliveries to resume to Gladstone’s port.

The port held 2.47 million tonnes of coal stocks before the derailment. A Gladstone Ports Corporation spokesperson previously told ILN that 315,000 tonnes were scheduled to be loaded in the 48 hours after the incident.
