The mine, located 300 kilometres from Ankara, is owned by a Turkish Coal Institution but construction work on the mine is being completed by Chinese state-owned company China Coal.
The victims were among some 80 Chinese miners working in Turkey for the First Construction Corporation, contracting for China Coal.
China Daily said the workers were digging a shaft when rocks and earth was blasted into the miners from a methane gas explosion.
Another two Chinese workers sustained superficial wounds and have been released from hospital.
