Qld mines put in strong showing

During June, state production totalled 14.5Mt, below June 2004 levels.

The state's underground mines produced 2.06Mt during the month, with opencut mines contributing the remaining 12.45Mt.

Total exports went from 11.72Mt in June last year to 12.1Mt this year. Export levels for the 2004-05 financial year were well above 2003-04 levels at 145.5Mt.

Dalrymple Bay exported 50.4Mt, Gladstone 43.4Mt and Hay Point 35.01Mt for the year.
