Originally released in 2013, OCCS has been redesigned to provide product optimisation, dynamic haulage and advanced destination scheduler functionality, all delivered on the technology platform shared by RPM’s other XPAC Solution products.

OCCS uses its Dynamic Haulage functionality to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing mine planners: the ever changing haulage routes in strip mines.

RPM CEO and managing director Richard Mathews said the development team had rebuilt the OCCS product from the ground up.

“Planning haulage during the course of building a schedule used to be a dream but we have made it a reality,” he said.

“OCCS’ Dynamic Haulage functionality is something unique. By considering the varying haul routes at each stage of the schedule, mine planners can be confident they have the optimal route to get their product from source to destination.

“Another key feature of OCCS is the incorporation of our Product Optimiser functionality.

“Blending is critical in coal mining – being able to plan for this and optimise the schedule with your targets in mind is an integral part of the scheduling process.

“Using the Product Optimiser functionality for multi-pit management, multi-stockpile management and the delivery of multiple products, can deliver results quickly during the course of running the schedule.

“The Advanced Destination Scheduler has long been a key component of RPM’s scheduling products.

“OCCS provides scheduling users with a complete picture of the entire mining operation by simultaneously incorporating haulage with the scheduling of sources and destinations within a mining operation.”

The product uses the Enterprise Planning Framework RPM developed to get greater control and transparency in planning.

“Utilising RPM’s enterprise model repository also ensure that a single source of the truth is used at all times,” Mathews said.
