Certification was received following audits through SAI Global, and has replaced the previous NSW Mines Dept Blass B Approved Workshops for the repair of IS apparatus.

This recent certification adds to the existing certified management systems the company has in place, including Quality Management (ISO9001), Safety Management (AS/NZS4801) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO AS/NZS14001).

Ampcontrol said the Intrinsic Safety component of certification gave a competitive advantage over other service and overhaul repair facilities, being one of few organisations who comply with both these nationally and internationally recognised standards.

The certification requires that detailed reports are produced for all repairs/overhauls and tests performed for all equipment, and will allow the workshop to place authorised labels on equipment as required for use in mining applications and deliver streamlined internal repair and overhaul processes with a quicker response time.
