Today’s acquisition builds on Wood Mackenzie’s purchase in April this year of Annapolis-based Hill & Associates, which specialises in analysis and advisory services on coal and electricity markets.

“The combination of both coal businesses provides, for the first time, in-depth, global analysis of the coal industry and its commercial future,” Wood Mackenzie said.

The acquisition of Barlow Jonker adds over 20 further coal professionals to the Wood Mackenzie team.
