As with many other government groups, all activities, including web site updates, reports and social media alerts were cut off at 1pm Eastern time October 11.
Officials warned that any online transactions submitted following that time would be delayed until the re-enactment of funding, and it would likely be unable to respond to inquiries or provide public access to its databases and other industry resources.
The EIA, which the mining community counts on for consistent and up-to-date figures for many market, production and usage dynamics, also will cease all data updates.
Many operations and facilities nationwide respond regularly to energy collection requests from the agency, and officials have asked that those reports continue as normally scheduled.
Should sites encounter errors or problems submitting, it has asked all impacted submissions to be held until operations resume.
The EIA Information Center is also closed, according to the agency.
