Annual profits were down from the R54.13 billion (R8.58 per share) profit recorded in the same period of 2012-13.

Net sales during Q4 came to approximately R200 billion, a slight increase from the R199 billion generated in the same quarter a year ago.

For the full year, the company's net profit stood at R15.11 billion, or R23.92 per share, compared to the R17.36 billion, or R27.63 per share, in FY2013.

Coal India fell 4.21% short of its production target set by the Indian government for 2014.
