More than 10 Australian specialists have been selected to present at the conference, which will take place from today to November 5.

This will be the largest representation of speakers from Australia since Dimensions began in 2005, and this increased participation demonstrates how geospatial data has evolved in the local mining industry.

Local academics, scientists, engineers, explorers and surveyors will share insights from their projects over the three-day conference – after their projects were selected by the Dimensions panel as among the most innovative in the world.

Vice president Trimble Geospatial division Erik Arvesen said the participation and attendance of geospatial experts from Australia and New Zealand was a reflection of the strength of the local geospatial community.

“We have seen some truly innovative uses of geospatial technology in projects that come out of Australia and New Zealand during the past year and we’re delighted that some of the industry’s best will be able to share their experiences at Dimensions,” Arvesen said.

“The confirmed speakers from Australia and New Zealand have incredible insights into how advanced positioning solutions are used to transform spatial data into intelligent, actionable information that gives businesses a competitive edge and makes the world a better place.”
