“During the quarter, three objections were received to the Environmental Authority amendment to allow the granting of a 3.5Mtpa mining lease for the Baralaba expansion project,” Cockatoo said.

“Two of these objections were subsequently withdrawn. The remaining objection will be heard in the Queensland Land Court”

The company continued stage 2 construction works for the project at a cost of $14.1 million during the recent quarter.

“Earthworks for the new train load out facility and balloon loop are 95% complete and construction of the facility has now commenced,” Cockatoo said.

Cockatoo also produced 131,487 tonnes run of mine during the recent quarter. This was 26% down from the previous quarter due to weather-related impacts with railing operations suspended for 25 days.
