Lightweight and highly configurable, the new release is compatible with the company’s iNet detection service option. Customers can also select it with or without an integral pump.

The Ventis detects oxygen, combustible gases and any two of a collection of toxic gases including carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. It is ideal for monitoring in confined spaces as well as for continuous personal monitoring in potentially hazardous environments.

Industrial Scientific says that, when used in confined space applications, the Ventis with the integral pump can draw samples from up to 100 feet. When dangerous conditions are encountered, the unit emits an audible alarm, a vibrating alarm and LED visual alarms.

Several options are available with the new Ventis, including ranges of sensors, batteries and chargers. An extended-range lithium-ion battery for up to 20 hours of uninterrupted personal use is available on the no-pump version, and all units have overmold color options including black and safety orange.

Operations will also save money and time for maintenance through its compatibility with iNet, the company’s software-based service that users subscribe to in order to receive gas detection as a service instead of purchasing gas detectors outright.

In addition to its Pittsburgh headquarters, Industrial Scientific has offices in Arras, France; Dortmund, Germany; and Shanghai, China. Its service centers are located in Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Netherlands, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and the UK.
