Brumley, who initially joined Jackson Kelly in 1998, had held the ICG seat for four years. During that time she advised the corporation on property rights, acquisitions, leases, coal sale agreements and other issues.

ICG was taken over by Arch Coal in June.

A graduate of West Virginia University, where she also earned her Juris Doctor, Brumley’s experience also includes commercial litigation, including contract and property rights disputes, business torts and shareholder litigation.

The former ICG staffer joins two other operations counsels who have recently rejoined the firm. Both ICG general counsel Roger Nicholson and former Massey/Alpha general counsel M Shane Harvey have returned to Jackson Kelly in the last two months.

Alpha Natural Resources closed on an acquisition of Massey in June.

Jackson Kelly’s offices are located in Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
