The new Curragh agreement is believed to have dealt with outstanding issues of remuneration, sick leave and holiday pay as well as housing at Blackwater.

Wesfarmers Curragh general manager Craig McCabe said he was pleased that the employees had overwhelmingly voted in favour of accepting the new agreement in the poll that was conducted by the Australian Electoral Commission.

“We believe that with this new agreement Curragh is able to provide employees with industry competitive wages and benefits while ensuring the long term sustainability and growth of the business,” McCabe said.

“This is a good outcome for the employees, their families, the community and the business. I’m pleased that after many months of negotiations with the Single Bargaining Unit that we can now move forward with confidence and certainty.”
