Sedgman appoints new leader in Asia

The appointment follows the retirement of Peter Long.

Dockray will be directing Sedgman’s Asia regional strategy and driving overall performance, business development, client relationship management, commercial negotiations and project delivery.

Prior to joining Sedgman, Dockray was Leighton Contractor’s chief operating officer of infrastructure and mining in Mumbai for six years.

Sedgman’s chief executive officer and managing director Nick Jukes said: “This is a key appointment, leading the company’s expanded management team in the major growth region of Asia

“There are strong opportunities for Sedgman in the further development of our business in Asia.” he said.

Dockray is a civil engineer and experienced leader with engineering, project management and business management qualifications.

He has experience working in challenging, emerging markets, having spent the past eight years in India and Southeast Asia.
