Drayton is a 5.5 million ROM tonne opencut mine located near Muswellbrook in New South Wales’ Upper Hunter Valley.
Anglo is already familiar with AMT’s collision avoidance systems after installing the technology at its Collahuasi mine in Chile.
Industrea chief executive Robin Levison told the Courier Mail the Drayton contract could lead to similar deals with Anglo's Queensland operations at Callide, Capcoal Surface, Dawson and Dawson South.
The deal is another major pick-up for AMT, which earlier this year secured a contract with BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance to fit its technology to the mobile equipment fleet at all BMA surface coal mining operations in the Bowen Basin. The deal included Peak Downs, Saraji, Norwich Park, Gregory, Blackwater and Goonyella Riverside operations.
AMT’s technology uses colour video cameras and radio frequency transceivers that provide advanced warning, automatic object detection and classification. The Collision Avoidance Camera System improves operator visibility by eliminating blind spots around heavy surface mobile equipment.
