The severe weather conditions at Newcastle came to a head on June 8, forcing the miners to declare force majeure, which removes them from liability if circumstances beyond their control prevent them from complying with a contract.
Xstrata and BHP have both announced a return to normal operations but said the total impacts of the weather are still being assessed.
A Coal & Allied spokesperson told International Longwall News that the Rio subsidiary has not yet lifted the force majeure declared on Newcastle coal exports.
The company is still assessing the impact at its three Hunter Valley mines, which have scaled back production.
The storms and flooding have so far resulted in an estimated capacity loss of around 2.5 million tonnes.
The Hunter Valley coal chain returned to full capacity on Monday.
