Mining areas demand royalty share back

According to an ABC News report, a decision was made at the shires association's annual conference this week to lobby the Government for the funds.

The push originally came from the Narrabri Shire Council, which is increasingly becoming a coal centre.

“The industry does have an effect on our shire in the way of roads and bridges with the extra traffic on them," Narrabri Mayor George Seville told ABC News.
