The Pro Bore roof bit platform has a helix-fluted design that pulls cut rock and dust through the centre chamber.
According to Kennametal this means better safety for operators, less wear and heat build-up, and a 20% jump in cutting speeds.
The Pro Point conical tool platform has a slim line design and features Kennametal’s NB tip to reduce cutting forces.
Kennametal says this allows the operator to get deeper penetration, uniform coal, less dust and with less power.
The new bits have been tested in the US, South Africa and Australia.
