Featuring support and monitoring on a 24/7 basis by the company’s staff, ACT president Steve Barrett said the new release adds the ability to provide diagnostics and troubleshooting to mines in real time while tracking and storing operational statistics.

When systems are in need of upgrade, the software updates can also be sent through ActiveVision, Barrett said. The technology will also allow for central viewing and monitoring of multiple mine operations.

“ActiveVision is another way we’re bringing mine network technology into the twenty-first century,” he said.

Barrett said the new offering demonstrated ACT’s commitment to providing modern, best-practice support to ActiveMine customers.

Earlier this month, ACT’s ActiveMine system received US federal approval, and can now be installed and used at all US underground operations.

“MSHA approval means that our existing customers can now fully install the system to get the safety and operational benefits that supported their initial decision,” Barrett said at the time.

It has had state approval in West Virginia since June 2007.

Federal approval of the Wi-Fi telephone component of the system was still pending, with the company expecting to receive it in the near future.
