A total of 18 teams registered for the state competition, including eight from Consol.
Bailey team members included Captain Dennis Vicinelly, George Joseph, Mike Spears, Kevin Williamson, Dave Cass, Steve Edgehouse, Bob Calhoun, Gene Menozzi, and Larry Cuddy.
Other teams placing at the competition from Consol Energy were Enlow Fork Mine in third and Blacksville 2 Mine in fourth.
