The German company’s mineral processing unit will be displaying a full-size horizontal feeder-breaker and new steel rolls at the construction industry gathering March 15-19.

The impact roll-crusher (feeder-breaker) is specially designed for non-abrasive aggregates, recycling, and tunneling applications. The crusher has installed power of 317 kW and a capacity of 544 tonnes per hour.

“Horizontal processing results in greater efficiency, while the low-profile design allows feeding at grade and reversible material flow for jam-free operation,” the company said.

Also on display will be DBT’s new steel roll, incorporating innovations the original equipment manufacturer claims will promise longer service-life than competitive products. Several of these innovations have patents pending.

Continual bearing lubrication is achieved through positive automatic lubrication (“Idler PAL”), with a tapered roller-bearing retention method positioning the bearing, while ensuring consistent, reproducible end-play.

The company said new assembly processes and techniques result in a highly standardised product, with consistent internal tolerances to maximise bearing life. A patent-pending installation method allows rapid retro-fitting of DBT’s steel roll to competitors’ frames.

DBT is also displaying its EXALON roll and heavy-duty engineered pulleys. Made of DBT’s proprietary high-molecular-weight polyethylene, the EXALON roll is 30% lighter and lasts two to three times longer than steel in normal bulk handling environments, DBT said.

The heavy-duty pulley incorporates features such as a keyless locking device to eliminate the unfavorable hub-to-disk weld, resulting in reliable drive of conveyors with belt tensions exceeding 226,800kg.
