Cain, who has a Masters of Business Administration, has a wide range of engineering, maintenance and electrical experience. During the mid-1980s he owned an engineering company in South Africa that carried out complete repairs to the hydraulics on longwall roof supports.
Recent roles have included project manager for Australian Coal Technology – a coal preparation engineering company, and business and regional manager for Simon Engineering.
Cain said his vision for DBT Mackay was to be the leading provider of equipment and services to clients. He underlined the importance of people to the success of an operation and said his approach was consultative.
