The opencut mine last year produced 82 million tonnes and is the largest mine in North America. Mine management has chosen to use the full complement of IntelliMine, including MasterLink self-configuring wireless network, which improves transmission speed and data capacity and ensures coverage is not interrupted.
The software also features a dispatch system designed to provide automatic, optimised haul truck assignments, GPS-based equipment positioning, equipment health monitoring, maintenance tracking, and blending and production reporting.
The ProVision High-Precision GPS system for dozers, shovels, and drills provides a continuous flow data transfer in real-time to operations, as well as planning for current projects and work conditions.
The MineCare component allows users to access up-to-the-minute operating information over the internet, thus integrating operation and maintenance data in real-time to allow for informed maintenance decisions.
The PowerView component will be used to generate windows-based reports on load, haul or dump operations.
The system will be installed by Modular’s Implementation Services and be employed on nearly 140 mobile units, including haul trucks, dozers, excavators, graders, water trucks, drills, loaders, draglines, and auxiliary equipment. A foreman vehicle will be equipped with a ruggedised laptop that includes IntelliMine and MasterLink utilities for controlling and monitoring the operation.
Modular also supplies information management solutions, including mining cycle control, monitoring and identification systems for underground operations.
